Hillary and Lava

Yesterday we finally hit land, well not literally, and we docked in Hilo, Hawaii. Sunny and warm just does not seem to be in the mix for this particular trip to Hawaii. We had no official plans for Hilo so Hillary and I did a little spur of the moment.

Once we were able to get by the Hilo welcoming security committee, we took a taxi to the airport and rented a car. Then we decided we’d go visit Wal-Mart! I mean, why not?

Kidding, we headed up to visit Volcano National Park. We both decided it is probably a stunning place to visit, however, clouds and pouring rain kind of diminished our opportunities. Luckily, my “senior parks pass” worked!
