So, for those of you paying any attention to this blog, here's today's update. We made it to the hotel very early today. Actually too early to check in so we "checked our bags" at the hotel and decided to go visit a local "museum" the USS Iowa.
I'm sure many of you will not remember a relatively recent story about the USS Iowa. By recent I mean in the late '80s. Click here for the link. We climbed many stairs (ladders) and descended many too. What struck me the most was a display I briefly saw at the very end of the self-guided tour. The sign provided information about the original cost to build the USS Iowa and said the cost was $100 million. In today's dollars over $1 billion. Anyway, it was a really interesting chance to see a piece of Navy history.
Back to the hotel in the afternoon to catch up on sleep and rest my knee. Tomorrow will be busy. I'll add something after we sail tomorrow.
